Over the span of 45 years of dedicated work and relentless development (1978-2023), The Eye Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saint Paul General Clinic, proudly stands as the premier and foremost Ophthalmology institution in both Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern Provinces.
In our continual quest to enhance our treatment methodologies, The Eye Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City consistently places emphasis on scientific research proposals and consistently incorporates and evaluates the latest approaches in diagnosis and treatment. Our overarching goal remains the restoration of vision for our community, symbolizing the return of “light.”
Comprised of a meticulously selected team, The Ho Chi Minh Eye Hospital boasts a distinguished group of directors, physicians, and specialists with exceptional qualifications. Our team includes 2 Associate Professors holding Ph.D. degrees, 9 Ph.D., 43 individuals with Master’s degrees, 53 Second Degree Specialists, 29 First Degree Specialists, 2 Pharmacy Master’s holders, 1 First Degree Pharmacist, 1 Second Degree Pharmacist, 17 pharmacists, 1 Master of Nursing, 2 First Degree of Nursing, 201 Bachelor of Nursing degree holders, and more. Each day, we provide examinations and treatments for over 4000 patients, including performing 700-750 surgical procedures.
With a capacity of 350 beds, our hospital annually conducts nearly 800,000 medical examinations and treatments, encompassing over 100,000 Phaco surgeries and a wide range of subspecialties such as refractive, corneal, glaucoma, pediatric opthalmology, oculoplastic, neuro-ophthalmology, and vitreo-retinal procedures.
In strict compliance with Circular 43/2013/Information-Ministry of Health, our hospital has implemented 1023 approved techniques, along with 244 professional and technical procedures and 160 Treatment Protocols. We have successfully piloted 3 clinical techniques that were introduced for the first time in Vietnam. Additionally, we manage and archive approximately 95,000 medical records annually in accordance with regulations.
